The Philippine Commission on Audit (COA) will host Asian leaders in the field of government audit at the 46th Governing Board (GB) Meeting of the Asian Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ASOSAI) from February 17-21, 2013.

COA Chairperson Maria Gracia M. Pulido Tan will join her counter parts from India, Korea, Japan, Bangladesh, China, Malaysia, Pakistan, Russia, Russian Federation, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Turkey to discuss international audit standards, transparency and other pressing issues in international audit.

“We are truly honored to be hosting this prestigious event,” said Chairperson Pulido Tan. “Preparations are underway and it is our greatest desire to ensure that the Governing Board Meeting will be seamless and successful,” she added.

ASOSAI is an international organization composed of the Supreme Audit Institutions of 46 member countries in Asia. It was established to promote professionalism, mutual support and understanding through capacity building, knowledge sharing and regional working groups.

Also in attendance will be the Director General of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) Development Initiative (IDI) as well as delegates from Brunei Darussalam.

This will be the fourth time the Philippines will host the ASOSAI GB meeting. Chairperson Pulido Tan was elected to the GB at the 12th ASOSAI Assembly held in Jaipur, India on March 3, 2012.
